Optimised Power for a Welfare Site During Winter
Site Setup:
5x En-Suite Bunker Bins
4x Caravans
Challenge
Operating a welfare site through heavy winter months (September to May) presented challenges, including elevated energy use for heating and lighting. The goal was to manage high loads efficiently and ensure consistent power supply under harsh weather conditions.
Solution
A three-phase hybrid generator with 80kWh of battery storage and 2.7kW of solar support was implemented. Leveraging Power Assist technology, the system handled peak-load surges efficiently, reducing the need for a larger generator and maximising diesel savings.
Outcome
Cost Savings: Lower diesel usage thanks to higher fuel efficiency.
Eco-Friendly Operations: Noticeable cut in CO2 emissions aligned with environmental commitments.
Robust Power Supply: Uninterrupted service ensured during the critical winter period.
Key Takeaway
Three-phase hybrid systems are ideal for welfare sites with heavy seasonal energy demands, providing cost-effective, sustainable power even in challenging conditions.
